Law School Graduation!!

Aaron did it! He officially has a J.D. from the University of Virginia!!! I am so proud of my handsome husband.
Dillon loved seeing Daddy in his robes. He especially loved the purple tassel!
It was so wonderful to have Aaron's parents here. They made lots of sacrifices to be here and for that we are so grateful!
Family picture in front of the law school
Family picture in the Memorial Gym right after the ceremonies. We were able to do the lawn ceremony outside (we did have to endure a little rain), but had to go inside for the law school graduation. It didn't ever rain while we were in there, but I guess the clouds were too scary.

Dillon's 3rd Birthday!

My little boy turned 3 on the 17th of this month! I can't believe he's such a big boy. Amidst all the graduation excitement we had a quick party to celebrate his special day. Above you'll see him holding up three fingers and the large pile of presents to get through..thanks to great friends, grandparents and aunts! You can also see my attempt at a creative cake. I had very limited time, but it turned out okay. Dillon was so fun to watch open presents. He would get so excited and wide-eyed as he slapped his hands on either side of his face!
I think he really liked his new clothes from the aunts on the Hobbs side. He's clinging to them like they're the greatest thing he's every received!
This is a picture of the guests at Dillon's party. You can see Dillon was too distracted with his new toys to smile for the camera. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for coming all the way from Idaho and the Goodes for running birthday errands I didn't have time for. And a special thank you to Aunt "Shelly" for making the trip down in the middle of her crazy schedule.

A visit from Don and Lori!

On the 15th Don and Lori flew into BWI to be here for Aaron's graduation. It was so fun to show them around our part of the country. Don could not get over how green and beautiful this area is. On the way back from the airport we stopped by the Washington D.C. temple and walked around the grounds.
Dillon found some great climbing trees on the temple grounds. What you can't see in this picture is the big caution tape wrapped around the tree to keep little boys like Dillon from doing just this. This is the best picture I have been able to get of Dillon in a long time so I had to post it.
We took Don and Lori on a speedy tour of Washington D.C. We were able to at least drive by most of the monuments, take a tour of the Capitol (thanks to cousin Sarah) and run through a couple museums.
Dillon cuddled up with Grandma and Grandpa to watch his favorite movie-Cars. I think Don may have missed parts of the show! Dillon loved having his grandparents visit his house.
Aaron took his parents to see Monticello. It's so fun to have so many historical landmarks nearby. We are really going to miss this area. Thank you to Don and Lori for making the effort to come visit. We loved having you here!

Virginia Beach

Two weeks ago Aaron finished finals for the last time! To celebrate we joined other law and med school graduates in Virginia Beach for the weekend. We split the cost on a really nice beach house (pool and all) so it was affordable. And I think everyone had a great time. The weather wasn't near as warm as we had hoped. There wasn't a lot of swimming, but we enjoyed the beach and pool side and relaxing time with friends.

We're still here

I just wanted to put up a quick post to let you all know that I have not abandoned the world of blogging but just haven't been able to post much as of late. Aaron was in finals for the last two weeks so I didn't have much access to our computer. Here are some highlights of the month of May: Aaron took his last final exam EVER last Thursday! We spent this last weekend in Virginia Beach celebrating. I am babysitting a family with 6 children for the next three days. Aaron's parents fly in on Thursday for graduation (on Sunday). Dillon turns 3 on Saturday. Aaron's parents leave Tuesday and I leave that same day to fly to Chicago to find us a place to live. So I'll have lots to catch up on. Life is busy but good.

Trip to NC to meet Diana

My brother Jason is officially engaged! He and Diana flew to Charlotte so she could meet the family. So we decided to drive down and join the fun.
We had a fun time paddle boating. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
Poor Diana, her first impression of me is of a big fat pregnant lady. And I'll be even more pregnant at her wedding.
I love this picture of Diana and Dillon. She could pass as his mommy. I think Dillon is slowly learning who she is, although for half of the weekend he was calling her Bo Peep! I have no idea why.
