I LOVE this face!

First Day of Preschool

My big Dillon started preschool this week. They had an open house on Monday where we stayed and played with him (and personalized his tote bag) and then Wednesday was his first day to go to preschool all by himself. Some of the kids were crying and having a hard time saying bye to Mommy---not Dillon! I barely stole a kiss from him before he ran off to play. He loves preschool and wishes he could go every day, not just 3 days a week.
His hair is so hard to do! It is so thick and so straight and has a definite direction it wants to go.
Wesley loves Dillon's school just as much as his brother. Each time we drop Dillon off it's hard to get Wes to leave with me. He's growing up faster than I want. He wants to be big like his brother.

Family photo shoot

While at the beach, our awesome friend Amy took a few family pictures for us. We should have gone before it got so sunny, but we still got some pretty decent shots. THANK YOU AMY!

The coolest part was watching Amy work her magic with photo shop as we were looking through the pictures. She is one talented girl! Love you lady!
p.s. Vote which one you think I should put at the top of the blog! I've numbered them for your convenience.

Birthday Get-away

I attempted to surprise Aaron for his birthday with a little getaway to southwestern Michigan. There are some great beaches so lots of Chicagoans use that area as a little escape from the city. It was a quick trip and just gave us a taste of something we'll have to really get into next summer.
The weather was beautiful! It seems August and September got switched around this year.
Our awesome friends came along and really added to the fun. Dillon and Bristol are such cute friends--the high quality pics are courtesy of her mom, Amy.
It was fun just to have some time together.
A day at the beach wouldn't be complete without some serious castle construction. We met another little friend to help out with the project.
We found a fun little Mexican restaurant that evening. I will never forget the awesome birthday song the staff provided!
Dillon was really excited about helping Dad open his gift. I love this picture of the two of them, like father like son, eh?!
I finally framed his undergraduate diploma to match his law one. Now he can put them up in his office. (sorry I forgot to rotate the photo)

Disney on Ice

Once again, we took advantage of the firm's suite at the United Center. On Tuesday night we rounded up several friends and went to Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic! Unfortunately Aaron and Scott both got stuck at work and missed out on the fun. But we still had a great time. Dillon kept getting mad at me for singing too loud, but I couldn't help myself--I love the Disney Classics.
Dillon and 2nd cousin Lynette are really cute little friends.
Bruce, the shark, was really quite scary!
Beauty and the Beast
At the end, all the characters skated around and waved at the audience. Dillon waved right back---it was really cute!
The Gang---thanks for coming everyone. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!

A Little Labor Day Fun

We didn't plan anything very exciting for our Labor Day weekend, but when it ended up being the perfect weather, I had to find some fun things to do. Saturday we took a trip to the pool. The boys LOVE playing with Daddy, especially in the water! The family in the background are friends from the ward that we ran into at the pool.
On Monday Aaron headed into work for just a couple hours and then we drove in to meet up with him. The boys always love going to Daddy's office. Dillon kept telling me he had some very important work to do---he kept using my old cell phone as his Blackberry!
We took a ride on the water taxi up to Michigan Avenue and made a stop at the lego store.
Oprah's big kick-off party was the next day so they were getting things all set up. I had to take a picture, it's the closest I may ever get to her.
We worked our way back to the car with a couple shopping stops. I was lucky enough to find a really cute new dress.
It wasn't the most eventful weekend, but it was nice to spend a little time together--just our little family.
