Miscellaneous Pictures

I think we told you about our recent trip to the Washington D.C. Temple with Aaron's cousin, Sarah, and her husband Trent. It was fun to spend time with them.

The other night we hung out with the Nelsons. While we irresponsible parents played Speed Scrabble, Audrey and Dillon found a permanent marker. Their bellybuttons will never be the same.

Nan's Birthday!

On my birthday I woke up to this cute little display on our kitchen table. I have such a great husband!
Dillon helped me open my presents. I got a gift certificate to go maternity shopping at the mall, shaving cream, razor blades (both were really needed) and a special delivery from BYU Bookstore...Chocolate covered cinnamon bears!!!
Aaron and Dillon helped make my birthday cake...Angel Food cake with a cream cheese whipped topping, danish dessert, and strawberries!!! My favorite! Dillon and I got to lick the beaters
We had a few friends over to celebrate and Dillon helped me blow out my candles.

Growing Belly!

For those of you wondering what I look like pregnant, here is your answer. I'M HUGE!! I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I already look and feel like I'm full-term. At this rate I probably won't even be able to walk in June. Even Dillon has noticed--tonight I sat down next to him and he patted my belly and said, "Oh your belly is growing so bigger!"

I've noticed everything with this second pregnancy is a little worse. I have worse heartburn, cramps, contractions, I'm more tired and light-headed and I'm gaining weight a lot quicker. With Dillon, I was working 10-hour days and feeling like a super hero. This time...well let's just say I'd love to just sit in bed all day. I can only imagine what my next pregnancy will be like. They'll probably just have to hospitalize me from day 1! Oh the joys of being a woman!

Actually I'm really grateful for the blessing of being a mother (and not having really bad pregnancies...I know it could be a lot worse). The whole thing really is a miracle. Every time this baby moves I am amazed that I actually have a little human being growing inside of me. We're still trying to figure out what to name this little guy though, so keep the suggestions coming.

Easter Morning

You can't let Easter pass without coloring eggs. It always amazes me how excited AARON gets about this part of the celebration. He's like a kid all over again.
The Easter Bunny found our house this year!

Dillon got new "Lightning McQueen" and "Sally" cars and was REALLY excited to open them!

Dillon really enjoyed the festivities of the day including our little egg hunt. But I think he had way too much sugar. He would not go down for a nap and was really restless all day and up several times during the night. I guess it's all part of the process. Happy Easter!

Ward Easter Egg Hunt

On Friday we went to the Egg Hunt our ward held at the Merkleys' Farm. It was so fun!
Dillon got a basket full of eggs
After the egg hunt the kids went for a ride on the little tractor. Dillon loved it!
Dillon got up close and personal with their pony named Cookie
Nia and Dillon enjoyed feeding the pony...but this is where things turned south! About 5 minutes after I took this picture, the pony mistook one of Dillon's fingers for a blade of grass. Dillon started screaming and when I looked over the pony was backing up with Dillon's hand in his mouth! There was a little blood and a lot of crying but after Dillon got a band-aide and calmed down he was anxious to see the pony again.

Trip to Charlotte

We made a quick trip to my parents' house to see Brittany in her play. Her high school put on a great performance of "The Sound of Music." Brittany was the cutest nun I've ever seen! It's always so fun to visit my family and get a taste of "mission life."
Dillon loves playing outside at Grandma's house.

Spring Break in D.C.

Last week was Aaron's Spring Break. Originally we wanted to do something really cool, but lack of funds and some scheduling difficulties didn't allow for that. We ended up spending a few days at Richelle's house in DC and were able do some things we hadn't done yet. Above is a picture of Dillon at the Capitol admiring the Idaho statue.
My handsome boys in the rotunda under the dome of the Capitol.
Tiger at the National Zoo
Megan, Dillon and Sophie up close and personal with the panda at the National Zoo
Aaron's cousin, Sarah, is doing an internship with Senator Crapo of Idaho and gave us a tour of the Capitol. We were also able to attend the temple with her and her husband, Trent, while we were in the area. I'm hoping to track down a picture she took.

Trip to Staunton, VA

A couple weeks ago we decided on a spontaneous trip to Staunton, VA, to see the glass blowing factory, have a picnic at the park (although we nearly froze to death), take a ride on the trolley, and stop by the Book Fair. The outing was kinda "nerdy," but fun.
