Great to be Eight

Dillon turned 8 today!  I suddenly feel old! We knew our evening would be busy, so we let Dillon open his presents first thing in the morning.

 He was pretty excited.

 Especially when he opened the aircraft carrier.  This boy loves jets and boats so it was perfect!

 He was super pleasant as he got ready to go to school.  I love how birthdays are so magical for children -- it really is the best day of the year for them.  I grabbed a quick picture of the birthday boy before he hopped on the bus.

 He came through the door after school just as excited about his special day -- and he was wearing quite the birthday hat, with the names of all his classmates.  He got right to playing with his new toys.

 We ate dinner at All Aboard Diner.

The boys went straight from dinner to the Father and Sons Camp Out with our church.  Hopefully they're not too cold...

A few things about my 8-year-old:

He loves jets, trains, boats (especially the Titanic), sharks and Harry Potter

He's getting better and better at piano and has an ear for music -- I love when he sings! 

He's a fantastic reader, a pretty good little artist, and is a great swimmer.

He's a great boy and I'm so grateful I get to be his mom!  I love you Dillon Maxce!

Preschool Graduation

Wesley's preschool graduation was pirate themed.  We started working on costumes a couple days before.

The night before the big day they had a family fun night with a nice little performance.  The kids had a lot of fun dancing and singing along.

Friday was the graduation.  My friend came through with a pirate costume just in time.

Wesley was in character the moment he put it on, saying "Ahrg" to everyone!

The children sang a few songs for us.  Wesley was great!

At the end of Happy and you know it Wesley decided to sing his own verse.  I was so glad I caught it on video   You can't hear very well, but he's singing "If you're happy and you like pirates say Ahhhrg..." He totally blushes will all the focus on him.  Such a funny boy!

I couldn't get one normal smile out of him -- all pirate!  Pretty cute!

Wesley went crazy when a real pirate showed up.  He was ready for a fight!

He finally settled down enough to get a picture with him.

There is one happy pirate with his loot!  I love Wesley's fun little personality and how he'll jump into any role and have so much fun with it.  He's so awesome.  

We love you Wes!  Congratulations on completing preschool.  Onto Kingergarten!

Spring Concert

The Spring Concert for Dillon's school was last week.

 We stopped on the way in to take a couple pictures.

 Dillon was a great little singer. We're proud of our boy!

We also enjoyed Caleb singing along.  During Wheels on the Bus he yelled "TOWN" right on cue, loud enough for 1/2 of the audience to hear -- and chuckle!  He's quite the baby :)
