IT'S A...

...NOTHER BOY!!
Yes, Dillon is going to have a little brother. We're really excited, but I am really going to be outnumbered now--3 to 1! At least I don't have to buy a new wardrobe for this little one. The only problem is that we are totally stumped on boy names. So we are open to any suggestions. It just needs to sound good with the middle name of Hobbs. Every day Aaron comes home with a new list of names, but we still have yet to find one we're both excited about. Good thing we still have 3+ months to figure this out.
(I apologize for the poor picture quality. I ended up taking a snapshot of the ultrasound pics.)

Valentine's Day 2008

I continued my tradition of making a fun breakfast in bed for Aaron. This time I made heart-shaped french toast. I took it into our room while I sang "Happy Valentine's Day" to the tune of Happy Birthday. Dillon was helping by carrying the syrup. When he heard me singing he said, "Happy Birthday Daddy!" We tried to explain that it was Valentine's Day for everyone, not just Daddy but I still think he thought it was Aaron's special day.
The Goodes watched Dillon so we could go out to dinner on Valentines Day. We went to a restaurant on the downtown mall called Rapture. The food was delicious!

Heather's Wedding

Heather was a beautiful bride!
Family photo shoot...the cute little girl is Autumn, Derrick's daughter

It's always so fun to squeeze my cute Grandma Hobbs
Last weekend I flew out to Utah for Heather's marriage to Derrick Pair. I met up with Brittany, Richelle and Mom in the Atlanta airport and it was fun to travel with them. Everything about the wedding was beautiful, especially Heather. Heather and Derrick looked so great together and I look forward to getting to know him better. It was so fun to see family and I did surprisingly well without either of my boys. Aaron got to play Mr. Mom all weekend and did an incredible job. Thank you to Aaron!
After a morning swim at the hotel and lots of fun together, Mom, Richelle and Britt flew back to Charlotte on Saturday afternoon. That night my cute brother, Jason, and I had a little date night. We did sealings at the Salt Lake temple (surrounded by couples in-love) and went to dinner. Jason called me on Valentine's Day and said, "I thought back on a time when we gazed into each others eyes across the altar and decided I better call and wish you a happy Valentine's Day!" It was fun to spend some one-on-one time with him.
Sunday morning I was able to meet up with my friend Melodie and go to Music and the Spoken Word with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Wow! They are so fun to listen to any time, but it is an even more incredible experience when you get to hear them in person. I was so glad we went. A special thank you to Melodie for making that possible, and also taking me to the airport afterward.
It was a fun weekend! So great to see family and friends and spend some time in the beautiful Salt Lake temple. It was wonderful to see my boys when I got home. Dillon kept saying, "I miss you Mommy."

Our little Cinderella

I kept trying to decide whether or not to post this picture, but I finally gave in. It's just too funny. As you can see, Dillon spends a lot of time with girls. His friend, Megan, got princess costumes for Christmas and Dillon really likes playing dress-up at her house. He usually picks the Cinderella or Belle dress. In this picture he also added a tiara to the ensemble...a nice touch! (Although he put it on the wrong way) I may be concerned if my boy is still wearing dresses in a few years, but for now, it's just really cute.

Blow Like a Dragon

Funny Toddler Story: Most mornings Dillon wakes up and crawls into our bed for 20-30 minutes. Earlier this week Dillon lie in our bed telling all kinds of stories we'd never heard before about "blowing like a dragon." He'd recently seen Sleeping Beauty and Shrek so we figured they were the source of these new stories. When we rolled out of bed we realized that there was something all over him but we didn't know what it was. In his room we found quite the mess all over his bed. When it finally dawned on us that it was vomit, we asked Dillon what had happened. He replied, "I blowed like a dragon...like on Sleeping Beauty." That cleared things up for us. He has quite the imagination. We just hope our little dragon will someday learn to blow in the toilet.
