Warm Weather

It finally warmed up in Virginia this week. Dillon's friend Lucy came over to play so I thought I'd pull out our little pool and try to keep things under control since neither of them had a swimsuit on. The top picture is how things started and you'll see below how things ended up. I should have known you can't tell two toddlers just to put their feet in. Poor Lucy had to borrow a pair of Dillon's undies for the ride home.
The next day I went out and bought Dillon a new swimsuit that will fit him this year. He's already used it quite a bit. I love that it is warming up, but I know I'll be complaining about the heat soon...especially in my pregnant state.

Potty Trained!?!

I think Dillon might actually be considered POTTY TRAINED!! I am sure there are still lots of accidents and setbacks ahead, but we're on our way. Just this week he finally decided to poop in the potty. I think all the bribes helped significantly. Let's just say he has a whole new set of toys from the Disney movie Cars. Hopefully he'll keep up the good work even though he's no longer earning new toys. He's also started standing up and using the big potty most of the time. He's still wearing a pull-up during naps and bedtime so I guess that will be our next hurdle. I love this picture of him reading the insert from a DVD. Just before I snapped this picture, he was actually leaning forward on his elbows! So cute!

Presenting...the Acappellate Opinions!

Aaron and I have had the chance to sing with the law school's acappella group this year called The Acappellate Opinions. We are so glad we got involved. It's been a blast. On Monday we had our first annual full-length concert. The quality isn't awesome and, in our opinion, doesn't do the performance justice :), but I'm posting a couple video clips of some of the songs we were more heavily involved in. We couldn't fit it all on one post, so another video will follow in the next post.

Acappella Concert continued...

Just in case you don't recognize the music, the two clips in the first video are from Sting's "You Were Meant For Me" and Billy Joel's "Longest Time." In this video are "Can't Help Fallin' in Love" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." Like I said in the other post, it's just been really fun to be involved with the group and I think all our hard work and extra rehearsals over the past couple weeks paid off.

Cherry Blossoms in D.C.

We finally made it to see the famous Cherry Blossoms in D.C. It was on our list of things to do before leaving the East Coast. With the crazy weather we have had this spring, we worried that the blossoms might not even bloom this year. But they were absolutely beautiful.

As always, Richelle served as a great tour guide and hostess. I'm so blessed to have such a great sister!
Here's my attempt at creative photography. We had a great view of several of the monuments (including the Jefferson, shown here) from the Tidal Basin.
Dillon got pretty grumpy being stuck in his stroller the whole time since the sidewalk runs right along the water. His favorite part of our tour was when we let him get out of his stroller and push it around the grass for a minute. That is his new favorite thing to do...push the stroller, not ride in it.
