First Day of Preschool
My big Dillon started preschool this week. They had an open house on Monday where we stayed and played with him (and personalized his tote bag) and then Wednesday was his first day to go to preschool all by himself. Some of the kids were crying and having a hard time saying bye to Mommy---not Dillon! I barely stole a kiss from him before he ran off to play. He loves preschool and wishes he could go every day, not just 3 days a week.

Birthday Get-away
I attempted to surprise Aaron for his birthday with a little getaway to southwestern Michigan. There are some great beaches so lots of Chicagoans use that area as a little escape from the city. It was a quick trip and just gave us a taste of something we'll have to really get into next summer.
The weather was beautiful! It seems August and September got switched around this year.
Our awesome friends came along and really added to the fun. Dillon and Bristol are such cute friends--the high quality pics are courtesy of her mom, Amy.
It was fun just to have some time together.

Disney on Ice
Once again, we took advantage of the firm's suite at the United Center. On Tuesday night we rounded up several friends and went to Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic! Unfortunately Aaron and Scott both got stuck at work and missed out on the fun. But we still had a great time. Dillon kept getting mad at me for singing too loud, but I couldn't help myself--I love the Disney Classics.

A Little Labor Day Fun
We didn't plan anything very exciting for our Labor Day weekend, but when it ended up being the perfect weather, I had to find some fun things to do. Saturday we took a trip to the pool. The boys LOVE playing with Daddy, especially in the water!
The family in the background are friends from the ward that we ran into at the pool.
On Monday Aaron headed into work for just a couple hours and then we drove in to meet up with him. The boys always love going to Daddy's office. Dillon kept telling me he had some very important work to do---he kept using my old cell phone as his Blackberry!
We took a ride on the water taxi up to Michigan Avenue and made a stop at the lego store.
Oprah's big kick-off party was the next day so they were getting things all set up. I had to take a picture, it's the closest I may ever get to her.
We worked our way back to the car with a couple shopping stops. I was lucky enough to find a really cute new dress.
It wasn't the most eventful weekend, but it was nice to spend a little time together--just our little family.
