Last week we joined forces with some great friends and headed to Nauvoo, IL to see some church history sites.
All of the missionaries/presenters were so awesome and did a great job teaching the kids.
I lLove these two buddies...
...and these two buddies -- Caleb loves Joe! (although he often calls him Luke!)
So many fun things to do there. In the family center, we learned how the pioneers made candles, ropes and rugs. One of my favorite moments of the whole weekend was when these incredibly talented folks joined us in the family center and sang a few songs for us. I got chills.
We were constantly trying to keep Caleb entertained so he didn't destroy anything.
He liked the wagon.
The highlight for Wesley was our own wagon ride.
After the wagon ride, we managed a pretty good group shot.
The kids loved the play area where we got to dress up like pioneers and play their games.
Wesley is always so excited to get into character -- I love that about him!
Handsome boys
While the kids played, the dad's found a game of their own. It was pretty entertaining watching them. I tried to get in on the fun, but just didn't do it justice.
How cute are these kids?!
We walked down the trail of tears to the edge of the Mississippi River.
Of course the kids had to put their feet in.
Statue of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. It was such a beautiful day to be out walking around.
That night we went to the Rendezvous. The senior couples were awesome...
especially this gal. She was definitely the highlight of the show. As she was exiting, my friend complimented her on what a great job she did. She sarcastically responded "I'm a real shy person!" Hillarious!
I love these two ladies -- such a great friends. I'm so glad we got to go together.
Stay tuned for the rest of the trip.
