Major safety hazard!

These two
Plus these
equals this (this is 10 days AFTER the fall)
and this
Notice the bottom tooth. This picture does not even begin to give it justice. But it's hard to get him to open his mouth for a picture. Poor Wesley took a major fall last night forcing his little tooth straight forward. They were able to force it back into a somewhat vertical position, but it is still pretty darn crooked. The oral surgeon is hoping the fracture on the top ridge of his jaw and the torn gum will heal on its own. He'll just look like a Hillbilly--with his bottom tooth in front of the top ones--until his permanent tooth comes in. He is a pretty tough kid (it looks awful today) and we're just grateful he didn't suffer a major head injury.
And Aaron is not the only adult that has taken a fall on these stairs. I did a while back and it hurt a lot, but my bruises weren't near as nasty. So after 4 falls and 2 insta-care visits I think I am going to see if our landlords will consider carpeting these stupid stairs. The cost of carpet has got to be less than our medical bills. Maybe we're just really clumsy people, but I like to blame it on the stairs. Let's just keep our fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

Ouch! We had wood stairs in our house in Kansas, and we had plenty of accidents, too. Definitely a hazard! Sorry your boys are hurt.

When I first saw the pictures I thought they took a sled down and got injured. That is what would have happened at my house. I get in trouble with my wife when we do those things. Glad everyone is ok.

Poor Wesley! Had to admit that I kinda chuckled when I saw the picture on the stairs, remembering Aaron's little adventure. But really, trips to the doctor are nothing to laugh about. Maybe in the meantime you should just make half of it a giant slide so at least when they're going down there's no chance of injury...at least until they hit the wall...hmmm, maybe not.

Poor Wesley! This breaks my heart. I'm glad he's okay...considering. I hope he starts feeling better soon.

Ouch!! That is no fun at all! When Trent was little he ripped out his front tooth by hanging in a basketball net. It inspired him to be a dentist :)

I hope everyone gets better soon!
