We had a great time at the Luke Family reunion in Island Park. It was fun to see Don take Dillon under his wing--they speny a lot of quality time together. Thanks Grandpa!

I love all of you and really couldn't ask for better in-laws. Thanks for letting me be part of your family! It was so fun to spend some good time with you--thanks for all the babysitting! We can't wait until we get to see you all again.

It was so fun to see everyone. Mom and Dad, thanks for letting me stay for so long--I know I'm not the best/cleanest house guest! Thanks for putting up with us. We love you all and miss you already.

Hobbs Homecoming

On July 1, my parents returned from their mission to North Carolina. We were able to be there for their homecoming. It was fun to see them with their missionaries. My parents have 400 more kids to worry about now!!!

We had a little lunch at the incredibly fancy house they are renting. A few of the missionaries found some hymn books and starting singing together.

My dad is not the tallest guy in the world, but he looks like a midget next to this elder!

Back to Blogging

I have totally fallen out of the world of blogging. This last month has been crazy. I was in Idaho for nearly a month (we drove 23 hours straight, no hotels, just straight on through the night.) Any moment not spent with friends or family was spent putting together all the last minute details for our 10 year high school reunion. But I am back. Although I miss family already, it is nice to be home. I've come up with my top 5 reasons I love being home. 1. We're all in our own beds 2. No more living out of a suitcase 3. I have a bottle scrubber that gets in all those little spaces of Wesley's bottle. 4. Plenty of toys--it's like Christmas all over, Dillon is so excited to see all his toys. 5. We're getting back on a schedule. I hate being so far away from family, but is it so hard to travel with children. One of these days we just need to move closer to home so we can have the best of both worlds.

Boating fun

A private boat tour down the Chicago River can be pretty expensive, but thanks to the Chicago Park District we got one for free! On our way to the beach (to meet up with Jason and Diana) we joined Christine and Julius for a boat ride on the Chicago River and a quick fishing lesson for the boys. The boat ride was awesome (and would have been even better had Dillon not thrown the biggest tantrum of his life when we tried to put on his life jacket)!

After our boat ride the boys got to do a little fishing. They waited for a while hoping a fish would take a bite. They were very patient. As soon as Dillon handed his pole over to Christine she caught one! I tried to make Dillon feel good that it was his pole that did the catching. I just think they looked so cute sitting next to each other in their sun glasses. Thanks Christine for always making sure we have fun in the city! Let's do it again soon.

Fun with Jason and Diana

My little brother and his wife spent over a week with us in Chicago. It was so fun to spend a little time with them. They know how to party. They were going all day every day making sure they saw as much of Chicago as possible--and they did. We joined them for some of the fun, but weren't able to keep up with them for the whole week. One of our first stops was at the famous "Bean" in Millenium Park. From there, they rented a tandem bicycle and rode up and down the shore of Lake Michigan.

We met up with them for a quick trip to the beach.

Wesley loved eating the sand and any other small items he could dig up.

We took a little trip to a neighborhood park for a picnic when Aaron was around to join the fun. This was probably not the highlight for Jason and Diana, but Dillon loved it and I think it brought out the kid in all of us.

They were also able to celebrate Wesley's birthday with us. Unfortunately they were the camera crew for most of the event, so we didn't get any pictures with them.

Thanks for coming to visit us guys! It was so fun to spend time with you. And Diana, I am so glad we converted you to Settlers! We love you two and miss you already.

Our little Wesley turned 1 this week!

He had fun tearing the wrapping off his presents. He LOVED riding his new train! And he loved his birthday cake!He looks guilty, but he's really sweet.
